About the Principal
Mr. Wachs was a biologist at Harvard Medical School before attending law school. After serving as an instructor and editor of his law journal, Mr. Wachs graduated cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University in 1983 and was admitted to the New York bar.
He joined the bankruptcy department of the law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler from 1983 until 1987, when he formed Law Offices of Stuart Wachs. He has since then served as an adjunct professor of law at New York Law School.
During the economic downturn in the late 1980s, he represented real estate interests in bankruptcy restructurings and litigation. His firm now concentrates its practice in real estate and commercial litigation. Its real estate practice includes representation of co-op and condominium boards.
